And presenting our first ingredient entry on behalf of the Brown and Rogerson groups is Docteur Philippe Bœuf – clues to the ingredient are contained in Phil’s portrait!

WE ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen we are back bigger and better than ever!

This year our humble BAKING Competition is spreading its wings to include the entire cluster. All departments/groups within the cluster are more than welcome to participate in this highly competitive baking challenge.

Who will win this years BAKE-OFF? Will the Rogerson group win it back to back or can Dept of Medicine Admin win it for the first time, after years of plotting and disappointments?

And the Winner is Stephen Rogerson!!!

The 2007 winner of the Bake-off went to the Malaria group.
It took the experience and skill of Stephen Rogerson to show everyone how it is done.
Congratulations!!

How to Judge

This is an example of a Voting form to be used by the official Taste testers. Please Remember that the voting system is similar to the EuroVision Song contest voting system. Each taste tester is not allowed to vote for their own cake. However they may taste them. No correspondents will be entered into and the judges decision is final.

 
Rheumatology is keeping a low profile and plan to surprise everyone at this years BAKE-OFF. Representing Rheumatology are Joanne Jordan and Bianca Chan. The BAKE-OFF committee would like to apologies for not being able to get a photo of for the blog. Also Rheumatology has got special permission from the BAKE-OFF Committee for 2 bakers.

 

The CRC group is going with youth, instead of experience this year. Representing CRC Bernard de Kok. He is the dark horse of the BAKE-OFF, with a love of chilli so watch out for his cake.

 
The malaria group is keen to win this years BAKE-OFF and have pulled out all the stops and have nominated Associate Professor Stephen Rogerson.

 
The O’Brien group has decided to nominate an exciting new talent Lisa Cardamone.

 

A legend in the department for her baking ability. She has the other bakers trembling in their bake tins. Representing Administration Loraine Parker!

The first baker to step up to this year’s challenge is the defending champion Kaye Beckman! Look out for her creative use of carrots and her whisking ability.

There is a good mix of bakers this year from proven performers to new entrants, too those that may have to be shown how to use an oven. It is exciting stuff.

We at Bake-Off HQ have been inundated with requests (one) for up-to-date information on the bake-off.

Therefore coming soon will be a on section this years Bakers, for you to OOH and Ahh at, and generally be in awe of their courage and culinary expertise.

This years ingredients are very challenging:
Carrot
Chilli
Dried Figs
Pumpkin Seeds

Rumor has it that at least one of this years challengers plans to blow your taste buds away with raw CHILLI power. We have never been afraid to taste a cake before but the taste testers may need a mango lassi with some of these cakes.
